She works alongside Harry on client design consultations, so we wanted to put a face to the name. But before Sirinya was helping our clients bring their ideas to life, she was one of them.
We sat down with Sirinya, and her six month old Miniature Australian Labradoodle Casper, to hear the full story: how a desk she designed for herself turned into a job, and how Casper feels about being the newest face of The Pet Carpenter.
From Customer to Colleague
Sirinya has lived in Edinburgh her whole life, and dogs have always been part of her story, even before she had one of her own.
“I have always loved dogs even though I never had any dogs growing up,” she says. “My parents both worked full time so it wasn’t ever a possibility. I remember my late Dad giving me an old book of all the working dog breeds with their temperaments and trainability profiles. I would dog ear each page with the breed I really wanted. I always loved the idea of having a little Working Cocker Spaniel, I still love them to this day!”
That love of dogs eventually led her to Casper, and Casper led her straight to us. Sirinya had been following The Pet Carpenter on Instagram since January 2025, long before she ever imagined working here. “TPC was actually the catalyst for me deciding to crate train Casper,” she explains.
She reached out to Harry in November 2025 wanting a new desk, one that would blend into her workspace rather than dominate it. “I hated how much of an eyesore standard dog crates are. I wanted something that functioned like my previous desk but with a few improvements.”
What followed was a genuinely collaborative process: an A4 vision board, a shared Google Drive folder, several calls to nail the layout, and, as Sirinya puts it, an agonising decision over colour. “I eventually chose my colour at what felt like the twelfth hour, honestly the hardest part of the whole process.”
Working with Harry as a customer showed her exactly the kind of company she wanted to be part of. “Nothing was ever too much, and the whole process felt calm and unrushed. I never felt pressured to make a decision.”
Before The Pet Carpenter, Sirinya was working at Lloyds Banking Group. “I’d totally outgrown my old role and was itching for something new in a completely different environment. Then I spotted the advert for The Pet Carpenter, jumped on it straight away, and was thrilled to have been offered a place in the team.”
The Piece That Started It All
While her desk was being built, Sirinya was already planning Casper’s room within it, starting with wooden letters spelling his name. When it finally arrived, it exceeded every expectation. “The detail, the quality of the hardwood, I learned just how solid it was when drilling a pilot hole for his bedroom lights. Not easy, which is testament to the quality of the wood.”
Since then, she’s been steadily making Casper’s space her own: illustrations of Edinburgh and Fife landmarks from her local Makers Market, a hand painted night sky ceiling, and an ongoing (and very honest) battle with her Cricut machine to add wall vinyls. “I’m still figuring it out. What Drew Her to The Pet Carpenter
For Sirinya, it was never just about the furniture. “What resonated most with me was the ethos behind the brand: the idea that each design begins with your pet and your vision. It’s personal, collaborative, and deeply rooted in celebrating the bond people have with their animals. That level of care and creativity made me want to be part of the team.”
Bringing Client Ideas to Life
Now, Sirinya is often one of the people you’ll speak to if you get in touch about your own project, working closely alongside Harry throughout. Her role starts with understanding both the client and their dog. “I turn their ideas into a 3D drawing, what we call a CAD, and then collaborate with clients through edits, helping shape the design into a visual they can really connect with.”
Her favourite part is the back and forth. “I love guiding clients, answering questions, and helping them imagine what’s possible. I also love hearing about dog breeds I’ve never heard of before, and going away to do a quick google search to understand how we can make their space perfect for them.”
Her ideal home aesthetic, in three words: natural, light, airy.
And if there’s one thing she’d want every prospective client to know before reaching out? “We love working with people to create the perfect high end space for your pet that will blend seamlessly into your home, for you and your family to enjoy for years to come.”
Life Outside the Workshop
Outside of work, Sirinya plays tennis at her local David Lloyd Club, spends time with friends, and, by her own admission, has become “a full time interior designer for one small fluffy king” since Casper’s bedroom arrived.
Training is a big part of their life together. With the help of Casper’s trainer Ash (Mordor Gundogs), the pair work on heelwork, whistle recall, sit and stays, and retrieves. They visit Sirinya’s mum often, and have a quieter tradition too: visiting her dad’s memorial tree, their spot to train, reflect, and sometimes just sit together as a family.
Right now, they’re obsessed with Hermitage: cheese scones from The Lodge Coffee House for Sirinya, the doggie paddling pool under the bridge for Casper, who is still deciding whether water is his best friend or his mortal enemy. At home, Casper’s hobbies include stealing socks, turning the lounge into a parkour gym, and demolishing anything that “crunches, stinks, or makes him feel like the world’s tiniest wolf.”
And Now, A Word From Casper Himself
We couldn’t publish this without giving Casper his moment. Here he is, in his own words (well, Sirinya’s, on his behalf).
Introduce yourself. “Hello! My name is Casper. I have a few other names, mummy’s top two are Ah Ah Ah, and Hey Hey Hey. Breed: Australian Labradoodle (Miniature). Age: 6 months. Vibe: main character energy, every day, always. Personality: I make questionable choices, run too fast, fall off things, and then chew on my pizzle stick snuggled next to mummy on the sofa like nothing happened.”
How would you describe your modelling style? “Somewhere in between. It really depends on how demanding mummy is on the day. Nothing to do with me being tired.”
Sirinya designed this beautiful piece before you came along. Do you live up to it? “I’m mummy’s little Prince of Edinburgh, I get only the best. She tells me daily if I want nice things she has to work. This means she spends a billion hours in front of her laptop talking to a man with fur on his face every day. He might be our boss.”
How much of your day do you actually spend in your piece? “I split my day between my bedroom and my den like a tiny CEO with multiple offices. On work days, I spend about 3.5 hours supervising mummy from my bedroom, and around 4 hours sleeping in my den while she works. Supervising mummy is exhausting, so the nap is essential, or I turn into a cranky gremlin.”
Any message for the dogs whose humans are considering a Pet Carpenter piece? “Don’t just settle for the room, demand that your pawrents decorate your space immediately. Start a riot. Throw a tantrum. Chew a sock in protest. I love my den, but you can’t put pictures up in there, and my bedroom is a whole other level of wow. If you ever see me on your pawrents’ screen, or spot the man with fur on his face, stop scrolling. Drop your toy. Sit your fluffy butt down and listen. That man builds bedrooms so good you’ll start manifesting opposable thumbs just so you can text him yourself. The next space could be yours. Manifest it. Manifest harder. Bark at the wall until your pawrents cave. I give my bedroom 10 out of 10.”
